Job summary

Shotley Bridge Primary School is seeking a Site Manager to join our premises team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role requires split shifts and a start date by Monday 16th November 2026 or sooner where possible.

The successful candidate will lock/unlock, manage health and safety, and oversee the premises team including caretaking and cleaning staff. You will supervise external contractors and handle procurement, with some specialist DIY tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Lock and unlock the school and carry out security checks of the buildings
• Manage the health and safety of the school sites
• Be responsible for line management of the premises team consisting of caretaker and cleaning staff
• Oversee contractors and other external agencies in relation to premises management
• Carry out procurement activities for premises related projects seeking quotations when required
• Carry out DIY above and beyond the scope of a competent DIY person, completing more specialist work when required
