School Premises Manager / Site Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor

Salary: £26,818 per annum (Actual) + Benefits

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, split shift from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm, Monday to Friday (flexibility required)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced site management professional with trade skills such as plumbing, carpentry, and decorating to oversee a new school site. Responsibilities include operational management, maintenance, security, health & safety, record keeping, grounds maintenance, and managing contractors.

Responsibilities

• Ensure security of school buildings and liaise with staff and contractors
• Oversee cleaning and maintenance activities
• Undertake minor repairs and decorating
• Manage site security, health & safety compliance (COSHH, legionella, risk assessments, fire alarms)
• Coordinate school lettings and site use with the Headteacher
• Be a key holder and respond to out-of-hours emergencies
• Maintain outdoor spaces and grounds

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in site management or facilities management, preferably in schools
• Trade skills: plumbing, carpentry, decorating
• Supervisory and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and IT skills
• Physical ability to work at height and move furniture
• Desirable: previous school experience
