Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a proactive Premises Manager to join a successful secondary school in Berkshire, near Ascot.

You will oversee routine and preventive maintenance across all buildings and grounds, manage site security and alarms, and ensure health and safety compliance. You will supervise caretakers and contractors, and handle facilities budgets. Training will be provided for candidates with relevant facilities experience.

Qualifications

• Background in facilities management or maintenance.
• Organised, proactive, capable of managing priorities.
• Knowledge of health, safety and compliance regulations.
• Experience in school environment desirable; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Managing routine and preventative maintenance across all school buildings and grounds
• Overseeing site security, including CCTV and alarm systems
• Ensuring health, fire safety and statutory testing compliance
• Supervising site staff, caretakers, and external contractors
• Managing facilities-related stock, equipment, and repair budgets
• Assisting with risk assessments, site audits, and emergency procedures
