Outwood Academy Redcar is seeking an LRC Coordinator to manage the Learning Resource Centre with a focus on promoting reading and research skills. The role is 14 hours per week across two days, term time only plus 2 additional days, starting October 2026.
The successful candidate will drive literacy standards, support students and staff, and help transform the LRC into a vibrant, intellectual hub within the academy.

Do you have a profound belief in the power of reading and the managerial skills to transform a Learning Resource Centre into the vibrant, intellectual heart of the academy? Can you drive literacy standards, promote research skills, and foster a lifelong love of reading among students? The overall purpose of this post is to manage the effective running of the LRC, ensuring it is an attractive, effective, and accessible resource for use by students, staff and community programmes.
Outwood Academy Redcar welcomes students aged 11-16, located in the coastal town of Redcar near Middlesbrough in the North-East region.
Our academy is known for its warm and supportive environment, with a focus on inclusion and providing opportunities and experiences beyond the classroom for our students.
There is a real sense of togetherness within the team of staff, who work closely to consistently manage our high standards, creating a calm environment conducive for learning and achievement.
