Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd in Winchester is seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our term-time catering team at a leading independent school. This 16-hour-a-week, part-time role (Mon and Tue) supports chefs, helps with prep, and keeps kitchen hygienic to high standards.

You will work as part of a friendly team in a busy school environment, with benefits including free meals on duty, cycle to work scheme, pension, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Great team player with a can-do attitude.
• Able to help Chefs with some food preparation.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times.
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment.
• Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials including air filter and extraction systems.
• Operate industrial dishwasher.

Responsibilities

• Keep the kitchen hygienic, safe and up to high standards of cleanliness.
• Assist Chefs with food preparation where required.
• Maintain and clean kitchen equipment and surfaces.
• Operate and manage the industrial dishwasher.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
