Job summary

Ripple Education is seeking a School Catering Manager for a busy school kitchen in Seahouses. You will oversee daily operations, prepare and serve nutritious meals, and ensure high standards of food hygiene.

This role runs Monday to Friday, 9am-2pm, with immediate start and opportunities for ongoing local work. The ideal candidate has school kitchen experience and a Food Hygiene qualification, with safeguarding awareness.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school kitchen or catering management role.
• A valid Food Hygiene/Food Safety certificate is required.
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety and allergens.
• Experience serving meals to established menus and standards.
• Ability to manage stock, storage and rotation.
• Excellent organisation and time management.
• Ability to lead and work as part of a catering team.
• Professional approach around children and school staff.
• Understanding safeguarding responsibilities in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the day-to-day running of the school kitchen.
• Preparing, cooking and serving nutritious meals as per menus.
• Managing dietary requirements and allergens safely.
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and health and safety.
• Organising food preparation and meal service efficiently.
• Supervising and supporting catering staff.
• Managing stock, ordering, storage, labeling and rotation.
• Maintaining kitchen records and documentation.
• Ensuring equipment and work areas are clean and safely maintained.
• Collaborating with school staff to provide an efficient catering service.
• Following safeguarding procedures at all times.
