Job summary

Ripple Education is recruiting a Catering Manager/Cook for a school in Cramlington and surrounding areas. You will oversee the day-to-day running of the school kitchen, prepare and serve nutritious meals and ensure high standards of hygiene and food safety.

You'll manage dietary requirements, stock, records and supervise catering staff while working closely with school staff to deliver a welcoming dining experience. DBS checks and safeguarding are required.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a school kitchen or catering management role.
• Strong understanding of food hygiene, health and safety and allergen management.
• Experience preparing and serving meals to agreed menus and standards.
• Confidence managing stock, storage and food rotation.
• Ability to lead and work effectively as part of a catering team.
• Commitment to safeguarding in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day running of the school kitchen.
• Prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals in line with menus.
• Manage dietary requirements and allergens safely.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and health and safety.
• Organise food preparation and meal service efficiently.
• Supervise and support catering staff.
• Manage stock, ordering, storage, labelling and rotation.
• Maintain kitchen records and documentation.
• Ensure kitchen equipment and work areas are clean and safe.
• Work with school staff to provide an efficient dining service.
• Follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
