Job summary

Ripple Education is seeking a Catering Manager/Cook for a school in Cramlington. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of a busy school kitchen, preparing nutritious meals in line with menus and maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety.

You will lead catering staff, manage stock and rotation, keep kitchen records, and work with school staff to provide a welcoming dining service while safeguarding children. Ripple offers weekly pay and access to training.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a school kitchen or catering management role.
• Solid food hygiene and safety knowledge, including allergen management.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day running of the school kitchen.
• Prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals in line with menus.
• Manage dietary requirements and allergens safely.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and health and safety.
• Organise food preparation and meal service efficiently.
• Supervise and support catering staff.
• Manage stock, ordering, storage, labeling and rotation.
• Maintain kitchen records and documentation.
• Ensure kitchen equipment and working areas are clean and safely maintained.
• Work closely with school staff to provide an efficient and welcoming catering service.
• Follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
