Job summary

St Mary & St Benedict Catholic Primary School is partnering with Sodexo to oversee all aspects of the school kitchen, including food preparation, service quality and the management of finances for catering. You will lead, train and support the kitchen team, ensuring high standards of food and service across a large student population.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year hands-on cooking experience.
• Training on Food Hygiene and Health & Safety will be provided.
• Experience cooking for large groups (100–1300 students).
• Experience supervising staff and leading a kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee replenishment of food and dismantling of work areas at the end of service.
• Develop, mentor, conduct training, and inspire the kitchen team.
• Control catering operation including labour, food and stock expenses.
• Manage and optimise all controllable costs.
• Ensure uniformity in food and service standards for staff, visitors and students.
• Create and develop menus for the school kitchen.
• Conduct routine audits to ensure standards are followed.
