Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Cook at a school in Worcester. You will support the Cook Manager in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food presentation and service, and helping manage kitchen finances. You’ll cook for 100–1300 students and uphold safety regulations.

You’ll join a team focused on quality and consistency, with training provided in food hygiene and safety. Term-time hours with a supportive environment are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year hands-on cooking experience.
• Training in Food Hygiene and Health & Safety will be provided.
• Experience cooking for large groups (100–1300 students) is preferred.
• Experience following recipes and using fresh produce.
• Adherence to health and safety procedures is essential.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, present, and serve food to company standards for breakfast, lunch, and hospitality.
• Assist the Cook Manager with food operations and kitchen finances for the school.
• Ensure service counters and food are presented to standards and portioned as required.
• Carry out daily/weekly cleaning duties in food prep and storage areas.
• Adhere to Food Safety, COSHH, HACCP regulations and allergen awareness.
• Deliver high standards of customer service and maintain cleanliness and tidiness.
• Provide craft/skills training for catering staff and lead by example.
