Job summary

Aramark UK is recruiting an Assistant Cook for The Oxford Academy, Littlemore, Oxford. You will support the preparation and service of nutritious meals while upholding high food safety standards, in a busy school catering setting.

The role offers 30 hours per week, term-time only, 43 weeks per year, with pension, life assurance and on-site parking. Training and career development are provided in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a catering, food service, or kitchen environment is desirable.
• A passion for preparing and serving quality food.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Knowledge of food hygiene practices.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals.
• Supporting the lead cook and wider catering team with daily kitchen operations.
• Serving food to students, staff, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
• Preparing ingredients and ensuring food is cooked to specification.
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Assisting with stock rotation and storage procedures.
• Completing cleaning schedules and records accurately.
• Following all food safety, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures.
• Helping to create a welcoming dining experience for customers.
