Job summary

Aramark UK are recruiting a Cook in Charge to lead a small catering team at a primary school in Ellesmere, SY12 0JE. You will oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, prepare nutritious meals for children, and ensure food safety and high standards of service.

This role is term-time only (38 weeks), 25 hours per week, with no evenings or weekends, and includes benefits such as a pension, life assurance, generous holiday entitlement, and training opportunities to support career progression.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a catering or kitchen environment.
• Experience supervising or leading a small team is desirable.
• Passion for preparing nutritious, high-quality food.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a small catering team.
• Prepare and cook meals for primary school pupils.
• Organise daily kitchen operations to ensure a smooth service.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene.
• Manage stock levels, stock rotation and food orders as required.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety and company procedures.
• Complete relevant kitchen records and documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment.
• Provide excellent service to pupils, staff and visitors.
