Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking an experienced IT Support Technician for a secondary school in Warrington. The role covers first-line support across classrooms, offices and teaching spaces, ensuring reliable technology that underpins teaching, learning and administration.

The successful candidate will troubleshoot hardware, software, network and classroom devices, set up equipment for staff, manage user accounts and escalation to senior IT staff as needed. An enhanced DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Experience providing IT support in a school setting.
• Knowledge of Windows devices and Microsoft 365.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding safeguarding and data handling policies.
• DBS check required or to be completed.

Responsibilities

• Responding to IT support requests from teaching and administrative staff.
• Troubleshooting hardware, software, printing and connectivity issues.
• Setting up laptops, desktop computers, tablets and classroom technology.
• Supporting interactive displays, projectors and other teaching equipment.
• Assisting with user accounts, password resets and access permissions in line with school procedures.
• Maintaining accurate records of technical faults, repairs and support requests.
• Preparing IT equipment for new staff and supporting equipment changes.
• Escalating network, security or infrastructure issues to senior IT colleagues.
