Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking an IT Support Technician in Oxford to join a busy school IT team. The role focuses on helping staff and pupils with hardware, software and connectivity issues, maintaining IT systems and ensuring smooth day-to-day learning and administration.

Candidates should have school IT experience, strong Windows/Microsoft 365 knowledge, and familiarity with user accounts and network troubleshooting. This on-site role supports classroom devices and school-wide systems.

Qualifications

• Previous IT support experience, ideally in a school or busy organisation.
• Solid knowledge of Windows devices, Microsoft 365 and common hardware/software issues.
• Familiarity with user accounts, network troubleshooting and device maintenance.
• Experience using a helpdesk/ticketing system to log and prioritise requests.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line technical support to staff and pupils for hardware, software and connectivity issues.
• Diagnose and resolve problems with desktops, laptops, printers, displays and classroom tech.
• Assist with user accounts, passwords, access permissions and device configuration.
• Help maintain school IT infrastructure and network performance.
• Install, update and troubleshoot software per school policies.
• Keep accurate inventory of computers, peripherals and equipment.
• Log support requests and escalate complex issues as needed.
• Support online learning platforms and school management systems.
• Assist with data protection, cybersecurity awareness and backups.
