Job summary

St Bede's and St Joseph's Catholic College in Baildon is seeking an IT Technician to provide day-to-day IT and AV support across its two college sites and feeder primary schools. The role covers service desk support, desktops and laptops, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra, networks, AV equipment, livestreaming, CCTV and telephony.

Reporting to the IT Services Delivery Manager, you will diagnose issues, maintain equipment, manage tickets, document procedures and help prepare rooms for exams and

Qualifications

• Practical experience diagnosing and resolving IT hardware, software and connectivity problems.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra and device-management systems such as Intune.
• Experience supporting desktops, laptops, printers, networks and wireless equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Willingness to support occasional events beyond normal hours.

Responsibilities

• Managing and updating support tickets through the Halo ITSM service desk.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, account and connectivity issues.
• Escalating unresolved or more complex problems to the IT Services Delivery Manager.
• Producing clear technical documentation and SOPs.
• Installing, configuring, maintaining and repairing desktops, laptops, tablets, printers and peripherals.
• Deploying applications and device policies through Intune and other device-management systems.
• Administering Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra accounts, groups and licences.
• Supporting network equipment, switches, cabling and wireless access points.
• Maintaining an accurate asset register and completing annual stock checks.
• Securely wiping, disposing of and recording equipment at end of life.
• Preparing rooms and systems for examinations and events.
• Applying security updates and reporting security incidents promptly.
• Installing and troubleshooting AV equipment in classrooms, halls and public areas.
• Managing IT and AV equipment booking system.
• Setting up sound, projection and livestreaming for events.
• Supporting CCTV, telephony and door-access systems.
