Job summary

Westcountry Schools Trust is seeking a People Advisor to deliver high-quality HR advisory services to Devon cluster schools, reporting to the WeST HR Office. You will manage employee relations caseloads, support policy improvements, and partner with school leaders to drive consistent HR practice across Plymouth, South Devon and Cornwall.

You will work primarily in schools with time at the WeST HR Office, applying strong digital skills and keeping up-to-date with relevant education sector terms

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent professional experience.
• Significant experience in an HR advisory capacity managing a broad range of employee relations cases.
• Good working knowledge of employment law and HR practice.
• Excellent written communication skills and the ability to produce clear guidance for a non-specialist audience.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, commercially aware HR advisory services to an assigned portfolio of schools.
• Manage a diverse caseload and respond to employee relations needs identified by SLTs.
• Support development and improvement of HR policies and practices.
• Collaborate with school leaders to strengthen employee relations and workflow efficiency.
