Job summary

Sellick Partnership are working with a local authority for this 6-month interim opportunity as a School Finance Advisor. The role is primarily office-based, with travel to schools to provide onsite financial support across Leicestershire.

You will advise on budgeting, forecasting, reporting and statutory compliance, supporting school leaders and business managers to maintain strong financial controls and drive the service's continued growth.

Qualifications

• Finance qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 4 with bookkeeping/financial management experience.
• Experience of school finance, including budget management and financial software.
• Diploma in School Business Management would be advantageous.
• Strong IT skills with spreadsheets, databases and reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Providing financial advice to schools and academies on budgeting and financial management.
• Preparing budgets, monitoring expenditure, and producing financial reports and forecasts.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting statutory returns compliance.
• Building relationships to promote best practice and deliver a high-quality service.
• Identifying opportunities to promote the service and contribute to growth.
