Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a School Finance Advisor to provide robust financial management to schools and academies, covering budgeting, compliance and strategic planning.

Based across County Hall and school locations, the role will prepare multi-year budgets, produce financial reports for governors and school leaders, and identify opportunities to grow the service while ensuring regulatory compliance and high standards.

Qualifications

• Finance qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 4 with bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Diploma in School Business Management would be desirable.
• Strong ICT experience, SFIA level 2 in a large ICT environment.
• Experience with financial management software and budget management in schools.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a comprehensive school-based financial management service including budgeting, forecasting and compliance.
• Prepare, monitor and evaluate annual and multi-year budgets and financial reports for leaders and governors.
• Promote best practice in service delivery and drive commercial growth opportunities for the service.
