Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is assisting a friendly secondary school in Herefordshire to find a reliable School Caretaker on a full-time, permanent basis. The role involves maintaining a safe, secure and well-presented site, carrying out basic maintenance, and working with the site team and senior leadership to ensure smooth daily operations for students and staff.

Experience as caretaker or maintenance help is preferred, with good communication and organisational skills, and a valid right to work in

Qualifications

• Previous caretaker, site assistant, or maintenance experience (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance and health & safety.
• Practical, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and well-presented school site at all times.
• Work closely with the site team and senior leadership to support daily operations.
• Ensure premises are secure, clean, and well maintained.
• Assist with routine maintenance tasks as required.
