Job summary

Elburton Primary School is seeking a reliable Lead Cleaner to maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. The role involves supervising a small team, coordinating daily to termly cleaning schedules, and ensuring high standards. The position is part-time, with hours Monday to Friday, 3:30pm–6:30pm.

Training will be provided, and COSHH familiarity is desirable. The school is part of The Learning Academies Trust and values a strong, collaborative cleaning

Qualifications

• Experience supervising a small team or leading duties is desirable.
• Ability to organise daily, weekly, and termly cleaning schedules.
• Reliable and trustworthy with good time management.
• Capable of using basic IT for ordering supplies and communication.

Responsibilities

• Organise and undertake cleaning tasks per schedules.
• Supervise, support and motivate the cleaning team.
• Monitor cleaning quality and efficiency.
• Order cleaning supplies and manage stock levels.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed, including COSHH.
• Act as key holder and manage opening/closing routines; respond to out-of-hours issues.
• Provide basic site management cover during absences and enable contractor access.
