Job summary

Elburton Primary School is seeking a reliable Lead Cleaner to maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. You will lead a small cleaning team, organise daily tasks, supervise quality and manage stock and suppliers.

We value dependability, good organisation and clear communication. Full training will be provided on COSHH and health and safety procedures, with you as a key holder responsible for opening/closing the site and occasional out-of-hours security

Qualifications

Experience in cleaning in a commercial/educational/public setting is advantageous but not essential.
Ability to supervise and coordinate a team effectively.
Willingness to act as a key holder and to open/close the site and respond to out-of-hours issues.

Responsibilities

Organise and undertake cleaning duties in line with daily, weekly and termly schedules.
Supervise, support and motivate the cleaning team to maintain high standards.
Monitor cleaning quality and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
Order cleaning supplies and manage stock levels.
Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, including COSHH.
Act as a key holder for daily opening and closing; respond to occasional security matters.
Provide basic site management cover during periods of absence, including contractor access and holiday lettings.
