Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a reliable School Caretaker for a well-established school in Northumberland. The role focuses on maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

You will work alongside colleagues and leadership to support everyday site operations, carrying out maintenance tasks and responding to facilities requests to ensure smooth daily running.

Qualifications

• Previous caretaking, site maintenance or facilities experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance and health & safety.
• Practical approach to identifying and resolving problems.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the school premises are safe, secure, clean, and presentable.
• Carrying out general maintenance, minor repairs, and practical DIY tasks.
• Opening and closing the school site as required.
• Monitoring site security, including alarms and access arrangements.
• Preparing rooms and facilities for school activities and events.
• Reporting maintenance issues and liaising with contractors when necessary.
