Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a reliable School Caretaker to join a well-established secondary school in Durham. This is a full-time, permanent position starting as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will maintain a safe, secure, and well-presented school environment, working closely with the site team and senior leadership to support day-to-day operations and create a positive atmosphere for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Previous caretaker, site assistant, or maintenance experience (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance and health & safety.
• Practical, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and well-presented school site.
• Support the site team and senior leadership to ensure smooth operation.
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues and keep facilities clean and secure.
