Marchant Recruitment is seeking a hands-on School Caretaker to help maintain a well-established school in Cumbria. The role focuses on keeping the building safe, functional and presentable for staff and students. You will handle general maintenance, routine checks and assist with room setups, supporting daily operations.

The successful candidate will have practical maintenance experience, a proactive attitude and a strong attention to detail, with a reliable and organised approach to work.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, caretaking, DIY or facilities support is advantageous.
• Hands-on attitude with willingness to tackle varied tasks.
• Good attention to detail and ability to prioritise work.
• Responsible approach to health, safety and site security.

Responsabilités

• Carrying out general maintenance, minor repairs and DIY duties.
• Inspecting premises and identifying issues needing attention.
• Maintaining clean, tidy and presentable communal areas.
• Carrying out routine health and safety and site security checks.
• Assisting with setup of classrooms, halls and facilities.
• Supporting opening and closing procedures when required.
• Reporting significant defects and coordinating external maintenance.
