Job summary

Vertas Group is seeking a dedicated Caretaker at Albany Junior School, Stapleford. The role covers day-to-day maintenance, cleaning, painting, and safety checks across a school site with safeguarding clearance requirements.

Hours are 35 per week, Monday to Friday, split across early and late shifts, year-round. The post requires a proactive, reliable team player who can work with minimal supervision and maintain health and safety records.

• Experience in a similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide caretaking services to oversee maintenance and cleanliness.
• Carry out day-to-day maintenance and minor repairs.
• Undertake cleaning duties.
• Make sure heating, lighting and alarm systems work properly.
• Carry out and record basic checks and maintain health and safety records.
• Paint and decorate as required.
• Monitor site stocks.
• Open and secure the premises as required.
• Demonstrate health and safety awareness.
• Attend training courses, including health and safety, which are provided.
