Neath Port Talbot Council is seeking a School Crossing Patrol for YGG Castell-nedd in Neath. The role is two hours per day during term time, with a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2027, based at Woodland Road, Neath.

There are no formal qualifications required as full training will be provided. You will join the Road Safety team to gather pedestrians, stop traffic when necessary, and supervise crossings.

Qualifications

• No formal qualifications required; full training provided.
• Previous experience with road safety issues is an advantage.
• Experience working with members of the public – children and adults.

Responsibilities

• Gather school pedestrians in preparation for road crossing.
• Control and direct pedestrians when gathered.
• Stop traffic when necessary to ensure safe crossing.
• Supervise pedestrians while crossing the road.
• Report matters connected with duties to the supervisor.
