Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) invites applications for a Cleaner role within its premises. Undertake cleaning duties across designated areas, ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met.

Work as part of a team under the line manager, with responsibilities including floor cleaning, toilet areas, waste handling, and reporting faults. Training will be provided to meet Health and Safety and COSHH requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the requirements of a School Cleaner
• Understanding of cleaning methods / equipment
• Health and Safety requirements relevant to the role, including COSHH
• Effective communication skills
• Effective team working skills
• Good organisational skills and ability to work on own initiative

Responsibilities

• Sweep, vacuum, mop and dry buff floors and refurbishment tasks using appropriate equipment.
• Clean and maintain toilet and shower areas and fixtures.
• Dust and wipe surfaces, clean internal surfaces up to designations, remove litter.
• Polish furniture and maintain cleanliness of ledges and walls.
• Carry out duties in line with Health and Safety at Work, COSHH and related regulations.
• Cover colleagues on sick leave as required.
