Job summary

Lodestone House is recruiting for a skilled chef to lead catering operations at a busy school site in Macclesfield. You will organise the kitchen, supervise a small team and deliver high standards of food hygiene and service, in line with contract specifications.

You’ll manage resources effectively, control stock and costs, and work Monday to Friday as part of term-time scheduling. A Basic Food Hygiene certificate is required, and strong people skills help you succeed.

Qualifications

• Good chef skills with ability to cook to standard and menu specifications.
• Experience in managing a small catering team and ensuring high hygiene standards.
• Demonstrated cost control and stock management abilities.

Responsibilities

• To organise and supervise the unit in accordance with the contract specifications and regulatory standards.
• Manage the unit for efficient service and quality delivery of food.
• Oversee preparation, cooking and service of food to agreed standards and specifications.
• Ensure resources, stock, and team are used efficiently and economically.

What You'll Be Doing

To organise and supervise the unit in accordance with and to the standards required by Compass Group UK & Ireland, the contract specification and statutory Regulations.

To be responsible for the overall efficient and effective management of the unit under their control providing a quality service.

Responsible for the preparation, cooking and service of food to agreed standards and specification.

To ensure the efficient and economic use is made of all resources, including stock, team members and company assets
