Job summary

Chartwells is seeking a skilled chef/manager to lead a unit within the education catering sector. You will plan and supervise daily operations, ensure high-quality food preparation and service, and manage resources efficiently to meet standards and budget.

The role requires strong leadership, catering know-how, and a commitment to safeguarding and health and safety in a busy school environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years catering experience.
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
• Excellent financial acumen.
• I.T. literate.

Responsibilities

• Organise and supervise the unit to the standards required by Compass Group UK & Ireland and contract specifications.
• Prepare, cook and serve food to agreed standards and specifications.
• Ensure efficient and economical use of all resources, including stock, team members and assets.

What you'll be doing:

To organise and supervise the unit in accordance with and to the standards required by Compass Group UK & Ireland, the contract specification and statutory Regulations. To be responsible for the overall efficient and effective management of the unit under their control providing a quality service. Responsible for the preparation, cooking and service of food to agreed standards and specification. To ensure the efficient and economic use is made of all resources, including stock, team members and company assets.
