Job summary

Aspris is recruiting a Chef/Head Cook for North Hill House School in Frome, a specialist day school for autistic children and young people. The role runs from 7.30am (breakfast at 8.30) to around 3pm, with flexibility for the right candidate.

You will plan and prepare nutritious meals, manage a small catering team, monitor stock, and ensure compliance with government Healthy Eating in Schools guidelines and food safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Plan, prepare and cook fresh, balanced meals for pupils and staff.
• Develop menus with consideration for dietary restrictions and sensory needs.
• Maintain hygiene and follow health and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and cook fresh well-balanced meals for pupils and staff, considering their specific dietary requirements and preferences.
• Collaborate with special education staff to develop interesting and varied menus that accommodate individual dietary restrictions and sensory needs whilst maintaining Government Healthy Eating expectations.
• Ensure that all meals are prepared and served in accordance with food safety regulations and best practices
• Maintain stock levels
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with health & safety policies
• Foster a positive dining experience for pupils by creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere during mealtimes
