Job summary

The King’s School, Chester, seeks an enthusiastic and experienced Catering Supervisor to join the school’s catering team and oversee daily operations. You will ensure top-notch food service, supervise staff, and collaborate with senior catering leadership to deliver services for pupils, staff and guests.

We value hospitality, teamwork and a strong focus on hygiene and allergen awareness, with flexibility for evenings and weekend school events.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality, catering or events.
• Passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
• Able to lead, motivate and support a team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Good understanding of food hygiene, allergen awareness and health & safety.
• Flexible to work occasional evenings and weekends for school events.
• Experience in education/independent school is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day catering operations to ensure excellent food service and customer satisfaction.
• Lead, motivate and support the catering team to maintain high standards.
• Coordinate with General Catering Manager and Head Chef for daily services and events.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, allergen management and safety.
• Provide a warm hospitality experience for pupils, staff and visitors.
• Assist in planning and delivering school functions and events.
• Promote teamwork and on-the-job training for continuous improvement.
