Job summary

The King's School, Chester, is seeking an enthusiastic Catering Supervisor to lead the school catering team and deliver high standards of service for pupils, staff and visitors.

You will supervise day-to-day operations, support functions and events, and ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements. Experience in hospitality and a customer-focused approach are essential, with flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality, catering or events.
• Strong customer service focus.
• Ability to lead, motivate and support a team during busy service.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Able to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, allergen awareness and health & safety.
• Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends for school events.
• Experience in education or independent schools is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day catering operation and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Lead and motivate the catering team to maintain high standards.
• Collaborate with the General Catering Manager and Head Chef for daily services and events.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health and safety and allergen management.
• Deliver a warm hospitality experience for pupils, staff, visitors and guests.
• Support planning and delivery of school functions and events.
• Promote teamwork and provide on-the-job training.
