Job summary

Aspens Services in Bristol is seeking an ambitious Chef Manager to take full operational and financial responsibility for a school kitchen. You will lead the team, manage costs and drive quality across menus and service.

You will oversee menu development, promote monthly specials, ensure health and safety compliance, and build strong relationships with staff, pupils and clients. A passion for fresh ingredients and GP-focused leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of GP management and the ability to smash sales targets.
• Fresh ingredients and high-quality cooking throughout menus.
• Experience in line management and developing a high-performing team.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety practices.
• OND/HND qualification is a bonus; on-the-job experience matters.

Responsibilities

• Financial control: Managing and improving all controllable costs, including stock, food and labour.
• Team leadership: Lead, coach, train and inspire your kitchen team to deliver excellence.
• Culinary innovation: Oversee menu development and drive sales through monthly promotions.
• Quality assurance: Ensure standards, systems and legislation are met via audits and proactive management.
