Job summary

Aspens Services is seeking an ambitious Chef Manager to take full operational and financial responsibility for a school catering facility in Burnham-on-Sea. You will drive culinary excellence, lead the kitchen team and ensure quality and compliance across all areas.

The role focuses on GP management, fresh menu development and delivering a first‑class dining experience within term-time hours. A competitive hourly rate is offered with a balanced work‑life pattern.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Gross Profit (GP) management and ability to smash sales targets.
• Proven line-management experience with coaching and development of a kitchen team.
• Experience in menu development and driving monthly promotions.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Passion for using fresh ingredients to deliver quality meals.

Responsibilities

• Financial control: manage and improve controllable costs including stock, food and labour.
• Lead, coach, train and inspire the kitchen team to deliver excellence.
• Oversee menu development and drive sales through monthly promotions and events.
• Ensure standards, systems and legislation are met through audits and proactive management.
