Job summary

Sodexo at St Peter's Catholic First School in Bromsgrove is looking for a Catering Assistant to help prepare and serve meals in a busy school kitchen, delivering high standards of hygiene and service.

Hours are 17.5 per week during term time (38 weeks), 10:15am to 1:45pm, with occasional travel between sites in a Sodexo van; a full driving licence is required.

You will join a friendly team, with full training provided and opportunities to grow within Sodexo.

Qualifications

• Full, valid driving licence required.
• Positive and reliable attitude.
• Strong teamwork and communication.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a busy environment and prioritise tasks.
• Flexibility to support another school when required.
• Previous catering, food service or driving experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages at St Peter's Catholic First School
• Drive a Sodexo van to another school when required to support with food service and washing up
• Transport food, catering equipment and supplies safely between school sites
• Assist with washing up and maintaining clean and organised kitchen areas
• Carry out general cleaning duties across the catering areas
• Maintain clean, safe and hygienic kitchen and dining areas
• Replenish food displays and service counters as required
• Support deliveries and store supplies appropriately
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures
• Provide a friendly and helpful service to pupils, colleagues and visitors
• Work as part of the wider catering team to ensure the smooth running of the service
