Job summary

Aspens Services Ltd in Boscastle is seeking a Catering Assistant to support our school kitchen teams during term time. You will assist with basic food preparation and frontline customer service for students and staff, including tills during service with full training provided.

You’ll work a predictable 12.5 hours per week across 38 weeks per year, with an emphasis on safety and quality. We offer a Learning & Development programme and apprenticeship opportunities, with safeguarding via DBS

Qualifications

• You’re a team player and thrive as part of a busy team.
• You have previous catering or fast-paced service experience.
• You have a basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
• The Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification is great, but not essential as we can provide the training!

Responsibilities

• Customer Interaction: Working on the tills during service (full training provided).
• Front-Line Service: Providing friendly, polite service to students and staff.
• Essential Support: Assisting the team with basic food preparation.
• Maintaining Standards: Ensuring a safe, clean kitchen environment and meeting Health and Safety compliance.
