Job summary

Carmarthenshire County Council in Llanelli is seeking a Catering Assistant for Coedcae Secondary School on a temporary basis (term time only). You will assist the Cook in preparing nutritious meals and ensuring food hygiene and safety standards are met.

The role is 21 hours 15 minutes per week, during term time, with a salary of £26,639 per year and an hourly rate of £13.81. A DBS check will be required and Welsh language level is Level 2 (basic conversational).

Qualifications

• The ability to build good relationships with adults and children based on mutual respect.
• Knowledge of basic food safety. This would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given.
• Good communication and people skills
• The ability to work on their own and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assisting our Cook in preparing nutritious and appetising meals whilst ensuring compliance with all aspects of Food Hygiene and Health and Safety.
• Setting up and clearing away of tables and general cleaning duties.
• Other catering duties as required.
