Job summary

Carmarthenshire County Council is recruiting a Catering Assistant in Newcastle Emlyn. You will help the cook prepare nutritious meals and ensure practice of high food hygiene standards in a busy catering environment.

The role is term-time with a 22.5 hour week, offering annualised pay and a starting hourly rate of £13.81. A DBS check is required and Welsh language level is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must be able to build respectful relationships with adults and children.
• Basic food safety knowledge preferred; full training provided if needed.
• Good communication and people skills are essential.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Cook in preparing nutritious meals.
• Set up and clear away tables and maintain cleanliness.
• Follow food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
• Carry out additional catering duties as required.
