Job summary

Aspens Services in Southampton is seeking a Catering Assistant to support our school kitchen with basic food preparation and excellent service. You will help during the lunchtime rush and ensure a smooth operation on site.

You’ll work 17.5 hours per week during school term time, Monday to Friday with no late nights or weekend work. The role offers a fixed-term maternity cover and training to support DBS requirements where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or fast-paced service.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 is preferred, but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Working on tills during service.
• Providing friendly front-line service to students and staff.
• Assisting the team with basic food preparation.
• Maintaining a safe, clean kitchen and adhering to Health & Safety standards.
