Newcastle City Council’s City Operations, Transport and Neighbourhoods invites applications for a Catering Assistant in Gosforth Central Middle School. Join the School Meals team to help serve meals to children and maintain kitchen hygiene during term time.

Working 16 hours per week across Monday to Friday, you’ll wash equipment, assist with food preparation, set up the dining space, and support the chef. DBS checks are required, and roles are site-based with DBS and recruitment checks conducted.

Competenze

• Reliable and friendly individuals with a positive attitude to join our School Meals team as a Catering Assistant.
• For roles with higher hour commitments, prior relevant experience will be discussed at interview.

Mansioni

• Wash catering equipment and undertake general cleaning of the kitchen.
• Assist the chef with food preparation and maintain hygiene standards within service deadlines.
• Help with tidiness and presentation of the service area and serving food to children.
• Describe meals available to pupils and ensure dining area is tidy.
• Set up dining room furniture and clear away equipment and materials.
• Assist with regular stooping, bending, lifting and carrying as required.
