We are currently looking for reliable and friendly people with a positive attitude to join our School Meals team as a Catering Assistant.
For roles with higher hour commitments, we are looking for candidates with prior relevant experience. This will be discussed at interview.
Working as a team and using your own initiative, daily duties will involve washing catering equipment and undertaking general cleaning of the kitchen. Assisting the chef with food preparation and maintaining hygiene standards within service deadlines. You will assist with the tidiness and presentation of the service area, serving food to the children and providing a brief description of the meals available.
This will also include cleaning the dining room, setting up dining room furniture and clearing away equipment and materials. This will involve regular stooping, bending, lifting and carrying.
We are committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is working in regulated activity. If you are successful, we will undertake additional recruitment checks which will include a DBS check (Data and Barring System) to see if you have had any criminal convictions, a check of police information and we will check the barred list(s). It is a criminal offence for a barred individual to apply for a job in regulated activity.
In order to complete a DBS check you will have to provide us with ID documents to allow us to process your checks. Please make sure you check the list of acceptable ID attached to this advert. You will not be able to start this role without a DBS and you cannot complete a DBS without the relevant ID so this is essential.
