Newcastle City Council is hiring a Catering Assistant for Mary Astell Academy in West Denton, Newcastle upon Tyne. The role focuses on supporting the school meals service, washing equipment, cleaning the kitchen, and helping with meal service to pupils.

Training is provided, and the post is term-time only with a 10-hour weekly schedule. Responsibilities include assisting the chef with food prep, maintaining hygiene, tidiness of the service area, and assisting with dining room setup and service.

Competenze

• Reliable and friendly person with a positive attitude joining the School Meals team as a Catering Assistant.
• No experience required; full training will be provided.
• Term-time role with 10 hours per week (Mon-Fri 11:30–13:30).

Mansioni

• Wash catering equipment and clean the kitchen to required hygiene standards.
• Assist the chef with food preparation and maintain service area tidiness.
• Serve meals to children and describe the meals available.
