Qualifications

• Experience in catering and home-cooked food
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• A Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification
• NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation or equivalent
• First Aid qualification
• Understanding safeguarding and children's welfare

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, cooking and serving of meals
• Support food preparation for on-site and other settings
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, health and safety
• Clean kitchen equipment, kitchen area and dining spaces
• Monitor food supplies and report issues
• Record meal requirements, cancellations and additional meals
• Support pupils during lunchtime to ensure meals are completed safely and on time
• Work with staff to support pupils’ wellbeing and development
• Report observations regarding pupil behaviour to teaching staff
• Follow safeguarding procedures to create a safe environment
