Job summary

Empowering Learning in Richmond is seeking a Catering Assistant to support the daily school kitchen operations, assisting the School Chef with food preparation, service, and maintaining hygiene standards.

This role is 15 hours per week during term time, with a competitive hourly rate dependent on experience. A positive, team-focused attitude and basic food hygiene knowledge are ideal; an Enhanced DBS (Update Service) is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen or catering environment is desirable but not essential.
• Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
• Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Assisting the School Chef with food preparation and service.
• Supporting the preparation of meals for pupils and staff.
• Ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen.
• Washing up and maintaining a clean, safe working environment.
• Assisting with stock rotation and basic deliveries.
