Job summary

BAM FM is recruiting a caretaker to join the team at Robert Blake School in Bridgwater. The role is 20 hours per week, 1pm to 5pm, Monday to Friday, term-time only (39 weeks). You will provide porterage, maintenance, waste management and security services on the premises, under the Site Manager's guidance.

Qualifications

• Caretaking or trade experience in a similar environment.
• Flexible attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Good numeracy/literacy (GCSE Maths and English).
• Willingness to develop ICT knowledge and other equipment/resources.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures and precautions.
• Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
• Willingness to participate in development and training opportunities.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Ability to relate well to children and adults.
• This role is subject to a satisfactory passing of enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Lock/unlock school buildings and areas.
• Key holding.
• Setting/un-setting of security systems.
• Monitor fire safety equipment and assist with fire drills.
• Operate and respond to alarm systems where appropriate.
• Undertake minor repairs and decoration as scheduled.
• Carry out routine maintenance to keep premises in good condition.
• Monitor the BMS system and report issues.
• Coordinate deliveries to the site and distribution within.
• Carry out evening let duties when required.
• Carry out contractor inductions prior to access.
