Job summary

Polaris Education is seeking a full-time Caretaker at Kinver, Stourbridge to maintain a safe, clean and secure school environment for pupils aged 5-16 with a range of needs. The role includes supervising cleaning staff, coordinating maintenance and repairs, and ensuring robust health and safety practices.

The successful candidate will manage security systems, alarms, CCTV, and day-to-day site operations, reporting to the Headteacher and ensuring access control and safety during and after school

Qualifications

• Caretaking or property maintenance experience in a school setting.
• Experience in building maintenance and security systems.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Basic DIY skills.
• Good literacy and numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, safe school premises.
• Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs.
• Provide supervision of cleaning staff.
• Promote health and safety across the site.
• Manage security including alarm systems.
• Carry out regular health and safety checks.
• Lock/unlock premises and manage access.
