Supply Heroes Ltd on behalf of a Redditch primary school is seeking an experienced School Caretaker for a part-time, long-term role. The post involves securing premises, basic maintenance, and site safety to keep the learning environment welcoming and safe for pupils, staff and visitors.

The shift pattern is split across mornings and evenings: 7:15am–11:15am and 5:15pm–6:00pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with DBS checks required.

Supply Heroes are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and well-regarded Primary School in Redditch (B98) for an experienced School Caretaker to provide additional site support. The school is looking for a reliable, proactive and hands‑on Caretaker who can start as soon as possible. The role has the potential to become a long‑term position for the right candidate.

About the Role

As the School Caretaker, you will play a key role in maintaining the safety, security and overall presentation of the school site. You will be responsible for ensuring the premises remain welcoming, clean, secure and operational at all times.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as a School Caretaker, Site Manager or Facilities Assistant within a school environment
• Good practical skills covering basic maintenance, repairs and site management
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures within educational settings
• The ability to work independently and use initiative
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• A proactive and flexible approach to work
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Based on the school's caretaker job description, the role includes responsibility for site security, routine maintenance, health and safety checks, grounds upkeep, contractor liaison and opening/closing the premises.
