Academics Ltd is recruiting a reliable School Caretaker for a Secondary School in Sittingbourne, Kent. This full-time, temporary role offers Monday-to-Friday hours 8:00am-4:00pm with potential for ongoing work.

The ideal candidate will have caretaking or facilities management experience, a practical skillset, and a commitment to safeguarding. DBS via Update Service or willingness to obtain is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in caretaking, premises or facilities management.
• Good practical skills and general maintenance knowledge.
• Proactive, reliable and hands-on.
• Good understanding of health and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willing to obtain a new Enhanced DBS.
• Commitment to safeguarding pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school site.
• Carrying out daily site inspections and security checks.
• Undertaking general maintenance and minor repairs.
• Ensuring the school buildings and grounds remain safe, clean and well maintained.
• Setting up rooms and areas for school activities and events.
• Liaising with contractors and reporting any maintenance issues.
• Monitoring health and safety across the site.
• Supporting with general premises and facilities duties.

This is a great opportunity for a hands‑on individual with previous caretaking, premises or facilities experience, looking for a full‑time, Monday to Friday position.
