Job summary

Academics Ltd in Bexleyheath is seeking an experienced School Caretaker to join a busy secondary school. You will ensure the buildings and grounds are safe, clean and well maintained, supporting with daily site operations and events.

Open and secure the site, perform security checks, and carry out routine maintenance. DBS check is required or to be completed before starting; salary will depend on qualifications and experience.

Location: Bexleyheath
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
Start Date: ASAP

We are currently recruiting for an experienced School Caretaker to join a busy secondary school in Bexleyheath.

The successful candidate will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the school site, ensuring the buildings and grounds are safe, secure, clean and well maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school site
• Carrying out daily site and security checks
• Undertaking general maintenance and minor repairs
• Ensuring the school site is safe, clean and well presented
• Setting up rooms and areas for school activities and events
• Liaising with contractors and reporting maintenance issues
• Supporting with general premises and facilities duties

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in caretaking, premises or facilities
• Good general maintenance and practical skills
• A reliable, proactive and hands-on approach
• Good knowledge of health and safety
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience working within a school environment would be advantageous
• A valid DBS or willingness to undergo a DBS check
