Job summary

Mitie is seeking a School Caretaker in Northampton to deliver high service standards and meet SLA agreements. The role is a permanent, full-time position based at the Wooldale Centre for Learning, with a 40-hour weekly schedule and two shift patterns: 6.00am–2.30pm or 12.30pm–9.00pm.

The successful candidate will follow Mitie's safety and quality policies, handle building security, assist with porterage and room setups, and perform planned maintenance including fire alarm and emergency light

Qualifications

• Previous caretaking experience preferred but not essential.
• Reliability is critical to this role.
• Professional attitude with ability to work independently.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

• Undertake all required training and follow Mitie's Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policy.
• Ensure maintenance is completed in a timely manner and the security and safety of the school premises and grounds are observed at all times.
• Respond to helpdesk jobs, unlock/lock buildings, and carry out porterage and room setups.
• Perform PPM tasks including fire alarm tests, emergency light checks, and support out-of-hours building use if required.
